What do we exactly mean by this term? anyone who can tell it,say it,elaborate it?
no matter, whatsoever the definition of it may be, my definition is a bit different.......very simple...'EDUCATION IS LEARNING' that's it....no more no less....and it cannot be anything else..can it be? NO...
mans life itself starts with a learning process.....the first time a baby learns to breathe in and breathe out...the first time he walks, the first time he talks all of these and many others...all these are nothing but learning....education...what else?
yes all these are instinctive processes and also somewhat the most basic necessities of life..so we can say that the unavoidability of that, makes a man learn them.....very well, may be yes...that's not important if he learnt it by choice or cos he had no other choice....its more important to recognize the speed and the way he learns it.....each child walks and talks but yet there is a lot of difference from child to child......how?and most importantly why?
simple....every one is different, somewhat unique....and every one has his/her speed of learning,way of learning,way of understanding.....a unique way of doing everything....it varies from person to person..we can start forcing in knowledge as soon as the kid grows but we'll never be able to make him LEARN in actuality and in complete TOTALITY.....NEVER can that ever happen.....you can mechanize the whole process of learning and make a person memorize a particular thing by heart.....you can make him do minor things here and there...with proper guidance...but you will never be able to actually impart the wholesome knowledge and tap the talent in an individual by force or by making him fit in your techniques and your systems.......he may do it...but what if he is asked to perform an entirely new thing out of what he knows.....and propose a new theory.....he will not do it.....he'll just probably back out......reason the very moment you question his basics, he will be unsure of his abilities......because he never had the time to entirely grasp the whole concept and the whole thing......the complete thing was never in his hand or head......
we the stupid people of this stupid world have been showing our ultimate stupidity in the area of education.........CONGRATULATIONS...we have created dumb,dumber and dumber still generations one after the another......mechanized dumb monkeys with hyperactivity and full of stupidity........what else is stupidity....???use of half knowledge is stupidity....half knowledge itself is not stupidity as it is in the building and learning process......but when you make a half knowledge work with it.....then you make him stupid....because immediately he will start up as a machine use whatever half understanding and knowledge he has and start working by the methods he was taught....this will stop his enthusiasm his curiosity and urge to learn and understand it completely......his psychology starts working with what it has.......so it stops accepting any new knowledge.....believing it already knows all.....where as, it is not so.......
all have there own way,there own capacities,there own speed......can we force a child to learn talking and walking within 5 days....can we set deadlines for a baby to grow this and that longer and wider within the given limit???? nope!! we never can do that.....we have to give him the patience the love and the understanding we have for him......we have to nurture him, assure him that he will be accepted, that he may take time but we'll wait for him, till he learns it.....try to instill the security the caring and the stability....so that he can take the soil of your stability and build himself/herself upon it......you cannot expect each and every person to run as fast as the Olympic runner or to ride a horse or to climb mount Everest.....everyone have there own limitations and drawbacks...........and
MOST IMPORTANTLY ,ALL OF THEM HAVE DIFFERENT, UNIQUE AND VARYING TALENTS....
people may ask.......how can we give a person as much time as he wants?he has needs and necessities to meet....well who are you to decide it? how can you set his needs and necessities and the appropriate time to meet them....REMEMBER YOU ARE NO ONE TO ANYONE...after a certain limit........no matter if you are a parent, a teacher or any other relation...YOU SIMPLY CANNOT SET ONE'S POTENTIAL, ONE'S TALENTS ,ONE'S NEEDS,ONE'S NECESSITIES AND ONE'S CHOICES.....THEY ARE ALL HIS OWN AND ENTIRELY AND ONLY HIS OWN...AND NO ONE ELSE NO MATTER HOW BIG IN AGE AND STATUS CAN DETERMINE ALL THAT FOR HIM....you are free to understand your own self first..as it is more important these days.......
people may ask how to implement such a system of education? i say why do we have to implement it....IT ALREADY EXISTS......even if you have an idiotic education system....people keep learning at there own pace only.....they may memorise and pass exams...but the real learning comes to them with the 'times' right for them......they may learn the theories by heart....but they actually LEARN when they start applying them.....when they find the right location, the position, the place ,the work and the time right for them to completely learn it in true sense...people may have degree's....but degree's can never give you common sense......degree's can give you nothing but a certification on a paper....that you learnt according to someone who went through your papers and checked it.....that's it....what else? IS THAT PIECE OF PAPER GOING TO PROVE IN REALITY THAT YOU KNOW EACH AND EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT FIELD AND THAT YOU COMPLETELY 'LEARNT' AND UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN IN THE EXAMS.?
OR IF I OR SOMEONE ELSE GOES AND TEARS OUT EVERY WRITTEN AND AUDIO VISUAL PROOF OF YOU HAVING THAT DEGREE.....IS THAT GOING TO ERASE YOUR TRUE KNOWLEDGE YOUR TRUE LEARNING?????? NO!!!!!
we acknowledge ,we certify,we shortlist,we question,we accredit and what not......why???! all these have nothing to do with what one truly learns.....nothing at all....mans learning starts with his first breathe and ends with his last......whatever happens in between.....has an effect on that human......and that effect is nothing but 'EDUCATION'

touched an old painful nerve, you have. education has always been the most vital yet most generalized and ignored issue in human civilization. human love for standardization has percolated so deep in mindsets that people forget that humans are not machines to be configured and certified!
ReplyDeleteneed for systematized education is need of those who just do not want to learn ever! they fear that if world was utopia without any set system, the honest learners would be fa ahead of them! they need standardization, or to be too honest, suppression of God gifted creativity and instinctive learning ability.....
i would suggest you to look up open schooling experiments and un-schooling experiments on the internet if you are concerned about this issue. some rare souls have done amazing experiments that involve, taking off the ill-effects of school! un-schooling your mind!!! very interesting idea!
there have been few informal social streams that celebrate mass school break outs and such stuff....or burn away their grad-certificates. it might sound too dramatic....but it has worked for them. and these un-scholars do not advocate any system...any set norm of unschooling. it is all about being comfortable with your own learning ability and not need any guided tour! it is about believing... "man's learning starts with his first breathe and ends with his last"
