This entire universe and every thing even beyond that is made of one common element GOD...you may call it light or anything else...i call it god...the creation is bound together working in an unalterable harmony.....the whole creation and nature always works in complete balance and harmony till the time a human comes and starts altering it.... in another words ruining it.........yes man is the most evoluted and the most capable specie of all, but it will work nicely and do great things only when it understands the plan and flow of the nature and the whole creation.....he is endowed with unlimited GOD powers for he was made in GODS own image but still he was given his own independent will power....which he has to culture and utilize well or else he will invite a calamity every now and then for himself and all others around him.......

to alter the very fiber of creation is somewhat unattainable but yes man does it all because he was supposed to be the highest and the most sophisticated creation of god.....but it is true indeed that more a thing gets sophisticated the more chances of down fall it develops along with it.....so was with man.....man with his superb intellect has found answer to a million questions using science.he has advanced intellectually,technologically......but he has also lost the basic clarity of being....the basic innocence and the basic sanctity of his soul......science has taken us far ahead on the road of success and advancement......but at the same time it has created a confused mankind which has lost its philosophical and spiritual wealth to some petty material and seemingly nice comforts......
in the end when a man reaches the peak of his material desires and there attainment he will find out in some or the other way that material success becomes success in the true sense when it is attained while commingling it with the spiritual side of life.....
life always runs on two wheels....the one is the subtle/emotional side of life and the other is the material/logical side of it....when both combine together and counter balance each other then it becomes a true spiritual life.....
beyond that comes prayers,meditations and philosophical study.....all these are different methods to attain the same goal, GOD.......or SALVATION,liberation or to be one with 'what is'.....or to be able to know in completeness that 'what is'..prayers remain the foremost in any religion, in any sect or technique....
reason..very simple.....we are all made of god....and the whole creation,every single atom of it is made of the common fiber, GOD.......and hence whenever we bow down to a particular thing, be it object or subject or immaterial....it becomes so that you lose your ego for a fraction of a moment...and there it is when you let your soul light come forth and influence and evoke the same god in that particular object or subject.......it may sound a little strange that a stone may come alive if i pray enough for it to happen.....but it is true....when we bow down remove our ego and project forth our powerful desires and thoughts towards it,it becomes evoked,provoked to respond...... to send back....because when we increase our receptivity the other part from the same creation made of the same material god has to respond...but your level of receptivity must be highly refined for that.....
the more receptive you are the more subtler and finer things you will come to know about the creation and the more contact you will establish with them.....
so it is with GOD......when you pray to god, go on praying for years regularly...you will go on refining your prayer and go on entering the subtler realms of yourself.........and one day when you will reach the subtlest point of your devotion you will find GOD right inside you....because GOD IS THE SUBTLEST.....
whenever you pray for yourself or someone else thats going to evoke the chaitanya or the godliness within it.....it is going to affect the vibration directly....and the creation is nothing but VIBRATION..VIBRATION IS CREATION...
Till the glass of your heart is full of mud of material desires and other mundane desires....how will you be able to fill it with the wine of GOD????
AN EMPTY GLASS OF THY HEART IS THE FITTEST VESSEL TO BE FILLED WITH THE WINE OF GOD......
Try and remove all other desires..remove all your material thoughts........think only and only about god, the deity you want to pray, the god you want to be united with........LOSE YOUR EGO and become completely empty.....PRAY from the bottom of thy heart to ALTER THE VERY FIBER OF THIS CREATION.......set your heart aflame with the fire of devotion and let it consume you entirely.......till nothing remains behind but the FLAME OF DEVOTION STILL BURNING WHITE HOT!!!!

may my heart be set ablaze
with the wild fire of thy LOVE...
may my whole being be burnt to ashes in the
fire of my DEVOTION for thee...
may the crackling FLAME of my devotion

the core basics of prayer are very well explained bit by bit in this post. Personally i liked the part of being receptive to subtlety of God, because just that can convert a dead routine chanting into a soulful devoted "prayer"
