Bramha janati iti bramhanaha! today bramhans neither know bramha nor the way of knowing him...usually they start from scratch by asking silly questions...for example...is there god or not? i think there is some power that governs all this.... where there is a creation there has to be a creator and that creator is known as GOD in simple words.
The above verse means "the one who knows BRAMH is the one called bramhan" this verse is from some scripture...I don't know whether vedas or upanishads...those who want its root can take the pain themselves and search it out...I am concerned only with its meaning...the meaning is, the one who has realised GOD, the one who is self realised...the one who has attained the ultimate soul liberation is called BRAMHAN...
Now this verse clearly states two things...one which i have already stated above...and the second one is that...no man born in a bramhan family is called bramhan as such...he is DWIJA not bramhan...dwija is the one who goes through an elaborate intiation ceremony into performing rituals in gayatri mantra...dwija literally means the "one who is twice born"...meaning the initiation into gayatri mantra is considered as his second birth...as from then onwards if he follows his daily rituals and rules with perfect discipline and chastity he will transform his body, mind and soul and finally attain self realisation...
Dvija's or vipra's...vipra meaning inspired....were the one's who engaged themselves into carefully observed rules and rituals with perfect chastity used to devote their time and lives in understanding the scriptures and making it available in easier and understandable form to the other masses who could not understand it or the one's who don't possess the aptitude to understand it...the manu smriti divides masses into perfect classes of work and efficiency according to their aptitudes...But for millennium's they are very well MISUNDERSTOOD!
Bramhan is the one who has realised GOD...and NOT necessarily the one who is born in a bramhan family...Dvija is the one who is twice born and has undertaken spiritual study of scritures as well as has undergone a rigorous spiritual training from a bramhan (god realised guru)...Vipra is the one who is inspired by his guru and the power of intuition and god in order to inspire others for self realization and to propagate the true gist of religion and spirituality...he is the one who shows the right path towards true bramhan/GURU and GOD...
Kshatriya is the one who learns all the martial arts and weapons in order to protect the society whenever necessary...and go at war for defending his country and protecting his fellow men...the one who protects his own family and assets is not a kshatriya...kshatriya has certain liberties on maintaining chastity and following certain rules...as they need to be more prepared for war and need to stay in mental ability to fight rather than engage entirely in scriptural and spiritual development...their religious duty is to protect their nation and society and understand scriptures and god sciences from vipras and get proper training and guidance from the bramhans /true GURUS.
Vaishyas are the one who deal in commerces...dealing with business and economics...these are the people who device the economy of the state and trade services in exchange of money or appropriate price...their primary duty is to provide others with all the necessary goods and services...those who do business only for the sake of money alone may not be called as vaishyas...their religious duty is to take proper training and guidance from a true GURU and work according to the laws set by the vipras and provide services to fellow beings...
Shudras are those who belong to service classes....those who work under someone else in order to earn his bread...and those who provide manual and physical labour in welfare of the society...their religious duty is to take training and guidance from a true GURU and serve humanity by means of manual labour...and self-less service...
People mistake caste system to be a division by birth! which is not true...caste system is not division by birth...it is division by 'SPIRITUAL CAPABILITIES', and it is not even division by profession!...so accordingly...today maximum people are SHUDRAS and VAISHYAS...and the very few belong to the bramhin, vipra and kshatriya classes...
Many a times people have problem with the word SHUDRA...which literally means small or insignificant...people misinterpret it to be its literal meaning...that shudra caste people are insignificant or backward...it is named so because...there are four ways by which a man works...one by spirituality...second by the mind working towards spirituality...by mind working in the physical plane...by body working for the benefit of oneself in exchange of welfare of others...and by body working for others without any significant returns...
the service by spirit is considered to be the highest as it governs all the other namely mind and body...
" if the spirit is right rest is right...if the spirit is wrong everything else will be wrong..."
the service by mind when in spiritual welfare of others is considered the second highest...the service by mind for the economical and physical welfare and protection of people is considered the third...the service by mind for welfare of others in exchange of one's own welfare is considered fourth...and the service by body alone in the welfare of oneself ...is considered as last...
looking from a wider perspective all have their own positions...and all are equally important...but only then when they carry out their duties as they are supposed to otherwise they are useless....no matter how low or high they are born...a man low in character is a man low no matter whether his caste is low or high by birth...
All in all all the above information tells us one thing...that GOD is the ultimate source of everything and we have to go towards god no matter in which family and conditions we are born...we have to recognize our aptitude and serve the society and fellow beings accordingly and sustain ourselves...and have to maintain our conduct accordingly in order to make proper and balanced spiritual progress...
divisions based on body, mind, status, caste, religion and clan make no sense in spiritual progress as GOD is the creator of all...he is the father and mother of all...he is the one who resides in everyone's heart...and hence we are all sons of god...
"OUR SOUL IS ONE,OUR GOD IS ONE AND OUR LIBERATION and REFUGE TOO IS ONE..."
